Crews Construction and Asphalt Paving, Inc. is dedicated to quality service, pricing fairness, and integrity while employing sound construction practices throughout its service region.
OUR HISTORY
Crews Construction Company was founded in March 1974 by Melvin Crews. Crews developed his heavy equipment operating experience working with a Virginia Beach landscaper for two years and Danville’s Marshall’s Construction for seven years. Owning his own firm was a natural development for his 50 to 60 hour work weeks. Joan Crews, his wife, supported his field work from their office.
The excavation company began providing foundation excavation to local building contractors and homeowners. From there, Crews Construction grew a range of services to include land clearing, trenching, and finish grading. Crews Construction also grew in total employees. Crews takes pride in providing livelihood for his employees, many who are loyal and long serving.
Incorporation of the firm was completed on March 5, 1985. This was a milestone for the firm and provided a level of financial confidence for both customers and employees.
In 2014, Crews Construction Co. Inc. purchased Reynolds Asphalt Paving. The new service was renamed Crews Construction and Asphalt Paving, Inc. and provided immediate expansion into road paving. Crews asphalt paving was a natural outgrowth of the excavation contractor work already being provided to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Lin Crews, vice president, Jeanette Burger, office manager, Charles Burger, Estimator, are leading Crews Construction and Crews Asphalt Paving, Inc. forward. They are motivated to continue Melvin Crews’ legacy of service throughout the Southside Virginia region. Crews and J. Burger are the son and daughter of Melvin and Joan Crews.
