Since 1974, our family owned company has served Southside Virginia, helping homeowners, businesses, contractors, and organizations complete projects with experienced workmanship and sound construction practices.

OUR HISTORY
Crews Construction Company was founded in March 1974 by Melvin Crews. After developing his heavy equipment operating experience with a Virginia Beach landscaper and Marshall’s Construction in Danville, Melvin established his own excavation company.
What began as a small excavation business providing foundation excavation for local contractors and homeowners continued to grow. Crews Construction expanded its services to include land clearing, trenching, finish grading, and other excavation work, while building a team experienced employees who have helped carry the company forward for generations.
On March 5, 1985, Crews Construction Company officially incorporated, marking an important milestone in the company’s growth.
In 2014, Crews Construction Company officially. Inc. purchased Reynolds Asphalt Paving, expanding the company into asphalt paving and road construction. This addition was a natural extension of the excavation and construction work Crews had already been performing, including projects associated with the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Today, Crews Construction & Asphalt Paving, Inc. continues the legacy established by Melvin and Joan Crews. Their children, Lin Crews and Jeanette Burger, along with Vice President, Charles Burger, help lead the company forward while maintaining the same commitment to quality, integrity, and service that has defined Crews Construction for decades.

They are motivated to continue Melvin Crews’ legacy of service throughout the Southside Virginia region. Lin Crews and Jeanette Burger are the son and daughter of Melvin and Joan Crews.
